Q: What material are your pistons made from?
We use two different materials, 2618 & 4032. 2618 is used in most of our severe duty / power adder applications. It requires slightly more piston to wall clearance and can stand up to the abuse of a power adder. 4032 is used for applications that are more on the mild side. 4032 has less of a expansion rate which allows us to use it with tighter piston to wall clearances. This is great for direct replacement factory pistons. Call one of our tech's and they will let you know which material is good for your application.
Q: What is compression distance?
Compression distance is the distance from the center of the wrist pin to the deck of the piston. This distance changes with different rods, cranks and blocks.
Q: How long will it take to ship my order?
Generally if you order a shelf stock P/N we can ship same day. On customs you will be looking at around 3 weeks depending on time of year. We use UPS to ship all of our pistons.
Q: Does your company make custom pistons?
Yes, we do make custom pistons for almost any application. Customs on average take about 3 weeks to make.
Q: Do your pistons come with wrist pins and locks?
Our shelf stock pistons do include standard wrist pins and locks with them. On our custom pistons wrist pins are extra but locks are still included.
